Welcome the TW Agent to VRAD and introduce yourself.

Please address me as [Your rank] throughout the training.

1. Tell them to join the VRAD VRChat group and assign them the Agent role. Create a group instance for the training.
2. Remain in character during the training.
3. Ask if they have read the VRAD field Guide. If they haven’t, tell them that they can find it on the website under the intel tab.
4. (OPTIONAL) Take them to the center office and open up their profile on the website. You can discuss their answers.

VRAD was first established in 1752. VR didn’t exist back then, so we sat around for 262 years doing nothing. Then on the eve of January 16th 2014, VRChat was brought online for the first time, and when the developers stepped in, we were already there, waiting…

We exist to monitor anomalies and protect the citizens of the metaverse from the unseen threats that hide in the shadows.

Please address other agents by their full rank and name if you know their rank, or simply Agent [Name]. Although the staff will likely reprimand you if you call any of them Agent.

The four types of missions

• • • Anomaly of The Week (AOTW) (Interacting with the public. Bringing people to HQ to be scanned). The basic event we do most frequently.
    • Urgent Assignment (A sudden event with catalysts (Catalysts are actors in VRAD)). These can happen during surveillance patrols, or randomly at any time. First 5 responders get to attend.
    • Incursion (Large scale organised events).
    • Overtime
      Agents are welcome and encouraged to participate in overtime missions. Whenever a VRAD member would like to go out into VRChat as an agent of VRAD, they can tag the overtime role in any of the discord channels to see if anyone would like to join them. They can then enjoy VRAD improv roleplay outside of officially sanctioned events. Staff and event organisers may also ping this role whenever we are doing filming for promotional videos. (Give more info on these).

Medical

1. 1. 1. Discuss their medical form (profile) answers. Discuss their power and corruption. Explain that these are used during our Urgent Assignments and Incursion events but not during AOTW events or overtime. The gripper tool dictates whether it corrupts or not. Show it.
      2. Agents on duty should be in one of the live mission channels. These channels are monitored. People that spend more than 2 hours per 30 days in these channels will be auto assigned an “active” role. It is removed if they fall below this threshold. There’s no penalty for losing this role, it just shows us who is active.

The tour

(Instructors improv)

Begin the tour of the HQ. You can elaborate on any easter eggs you think of, such as the ducks around the HQ. The center office office being stolen regularly. Grape being the VRAD unit of measurement The quantum kitchen exists but has a low probability of spawning. You left something in the microwave 15 years ago?

Respawn.

1. 1. 1. Bathroom: Explain why we are in a bathroom. Secret entrance that civillians wouldn't dare enter because it's gross.
      2. Reception: This is where we recept, discuss any easter eggs you know. Explain all red doors in HQ are currently locked.
      3. Chill room: You can use whatever reason you want for why we are suddenly in space. This reason should be different every time. Stand on the far right opf the viewing window and don't mention the duck. They will notice it themselves when they look in your direction.

      5. Quantum Kitchen: Trick them into ejecting themselves.
      6. Smoking Area: Trick them into ejecting themselves.
      7. The stage: is where we hold briefings before events.
      8. Powergrid hamster
      9. Server room: This is where agents' memories are uploaded to in case they are killed.
      10. Director and 2IC office
      11. Anomaly Scanner: Show them the scanner and explain how it works. Get them to scan you.

Read the following:

This is VRAD's immersive recruitment system. The main objective is to post peoples scans and get them into the discord server to see it. When they see our activities they may be inspired to join. The more people we have, the more interesting VRAD events can be. The anomaly scanning PR aspect of our community is important to ensure the continued survival of it. All public RP groups have a variation of this process. Posting the scan is time sensitive, it must be posted as soon as the scan is complete, so we can direct the player to the discord server to see their scan immediately. While agent 1 is posting the scan result, another agent can be directing the player to the server URL to see the scan. They should be invited to join us as an Agent if they enjoyed their experience”

At this point, they should post the photo in the anomaly database channel. And ask them to run through the verbal process of funneling you into the discord server.

This uploads your memories to the Agent Database Server we saw earlier and unlocks your Quantum Shift. You should use this often so your memories remain as fresh as possible if we have to reprint you in the event of the minor inconvenience known as “death”.

When the scan is complete, get them to take a photo of the screen. Create a new thread in Agent Database. Title it with their name and post the picture. They can use this thread to document their adventures.

Testing & Integrity Training Subspace (TITS)

Stand outside the anomaly room. Tell them from the moment they enter they have 1 minute to identify as many anomalies as they can find. Explain they should think outside the box, or inside the box if they want, you're not their mom. 
Answer: There are 11 in total.

      11. Literally put your face (or camera) inside the counter
      12. Bonus points for anything else they consider like the unlimited amounts of Knuckles hiding in every version of our logo.

The result means nothing. Just getting them to think outside the box which is useful for improv. If they jumped on the counter, jumped over the barrier, moved playspace or used their camera to look around, that’s even better. Nothing is considered cheating. Creativity is good.

Avatar Room

1. 1. 1. Head to the avatar room and let them grab the avatar.
      2. Discourage looking through the menu just yet.
      3. Change into one of the avatars as well.
      4. Take them to the mirror.
      5. Explain what each thing in the avatar is for.
      6. The red button can be whatever you want. Make it interesting.
      7. You can make a personal avatar. Guidelines and limitations can be found on the website..

Improv section:

Instructor: Get changed into one of the stock avatars that has all the equipment, unless yours has it all. Ask them to pick any one of their own avatars. Use the equipment and roleplay with the recruit as you would in the field. Identify things on the recruits avatar that could be anomalous. Roleplay up to the point of getting them to join you at the HQ. Now change into an avatar, get them to do the same with you.

Read out loud:

Some people in VRChat can be mean to roleplayers. Don’t let it get to you, just ignore them and move on. Dont engage with nasty people. Its not worth your time or the potential impact on your mental health.
If people aren’t interested in engaging, then move on to someone else.
Try to focus on PC players if you are on PC, these people will be able to see more of our animations. Dont discard Questies though. They can see us.
If you’ve been in a world for 15 minutes without an interaction, move on to another world.
Avoid movie worlds because people are already engaged.
You can join game worlds, remain in character and leave if you are unwelcome.
The most important thing is to have fun and ensure the people we interact with are having fun too.

You can now go out and represent VRAD whenever you like. Whenever you are representing VRAD in public worlds, you may be in one of the live mission comms channels. Even if nobody else is in the channel. It just calculates your time and lets the staff know you are an active member.
